That’s a hard question to answer in a vacuum: I don’t know your business expertise or vertical industry know-how. But here’s some ideas to help you find an idea for a software product:
- Business software must solve a customer painpoint (some problem or issue they have). Put yourself in the shoes of a small business owner, and consider what types of immediate problems they have that you have some unique value to solve.
- What types of small business customers do you want to target? What types of small business customers do you have any unique knowledge about, either through your own experience or others that work with you? You need to be able to paint a picture of the exact target customer you’re going after with your product, as specific and detailed as possible. Just “small business” is a very large market. See if you can identify a niche where you have unique value to add.
The link below provides some more detail on how to best identify your target customer base.
