We want to do our business plan. What is the best value business software out there? Can you buy used like say 1 year old or 2 years old and not really miss anything or is it critical to have somethin current (2007)? Thanks!

You don’t even need to spend money on software - you can go to the local public library and there are many books there that can help you write a business plan. The components of most business plans are the same . . . pretty much it’s the what, where, why, when, how and who. Then, write a 1-pager executive summary of what you’ve said in the plan and you’re off to the races.

There are sites that offer free software, even, for construction a business plan. Such programs are included with most any accounting software, but frankly, you don’t need them at all.
All you need is a simple spread sheet and an idea as to how your business is going to run. Write it down. I think if you check the Excel website you can probably find a template for a business plan right there.

No, if you use software it does not have to be a current version of a program. The structure of business plans hasn’t changed in centuries.
